– The police districts report that there are relatively few persons crossing the borders these days. A small number of persons have been refused entry to Norway, says National Police Commissioner Benedicte Bjørnland.
The border checks are carried out in collaboration with the Customs Service and other collaborating agencies. The police checks persons, whereas the customs officers are responsible for checking goods. The Home Guard also assist the police at the borders.
– The collaboration with the Customs Service and the Home Guard at the border crossing points is successful, and citizens heed the advice from the authorities to limit their international travel activity, says Bjørnland.
