The national border between Norway and Russia is 197,7 km long and is under surveillance by both countries' border authorities. If you are in the border area, you are obligated to familiarize yourself with current rules and regulations. Infractions will be prosecuted.

The legislation is complicated so the best advise is to keep a safe distance to the border and conduct in such a way that border violations and other undesirable incidents are avoided.
