What is the difference between EES and ETIAS?
ETIAS - Politiet.noBoth ETIAS and are new border control systems that are being implemented in Europe in order to strengthen the external Schengen borders. While the implementation of ETIAS means that the traveler will have to apply for a travel authorization before departure, the EES is a change in the actual control at the border. With the implementation of EES, information about travellers, including their facial image and fingerprints, are stored in a common European database, as well as time and place for arrival and departure. This replaces the stamping of passports. More information
