• Du må være fylt 20 år og yngre enn 75 år.
  • Politiet sjekker at du har tilfredsstillende vandel.
  • Du må ha førerkort i førerkortklassen(e) du søker kjøreseddel for.
  • Er du utenlandsk statsborger, må du som hovedregel ha bodd i Norge i fire år. Krav om botid gjelder ikke dersom du er fra et EØS-land og har gyldig politiattest fra landet.
  • Du trenger original helseattest fra lege. Helseattesten skal ikke være eldre enn tre måneder.

Er du drosjesjåfør?

  • I tillegg til kravene over, må du ha hatt førerkort for klasse B sammenhengende i minst to år.
  • Du som er ny søker må ha bestått drosjesjåføreksamen ved Statens vegvesen.
  • Hvis du fikk kjøreseddel før 1. november 2020, trenger du ikke å ha bestått drosjesjåføreksamen for å fornye kjøreseddelen så lenge du fornyer kjøreseddelen innen et år etter utløpsdato.
  • Har du gyldig yrkessjåførkompetanse for persontransport, trenger du ikke ta drosjesjåføreksamen(vegvesen.no). 

Slik søker du om kjøreseddel

  1. Send in your application, along with all the necessary attachments

    Fill out the application for a PCV driver's licence (63 KB) .

    Attach these documents to your application:

    • Your medical certificate (original document) and a completed Personal Health Statement (NA-0201).
    • A copy of your driving licence (must be currently valid).
    • Confirmation that you have passed the local route memory test (if necessary).

    If you are from an EEA country and have lived in Norway for less than four years, you must also attach:

    • a criminal record certificate from your home country.
    • a copy of your non-Norwegian driving licence.

    Send your application, with attachments, to your local police station.

  2. The police process your application

    Your application will be processed in the police district where you live.

    You will normally receive a reply to your application, or information about when it will be processed, within three weeks. This applies if your application was complete (all the necessary attachments were included). However, the amount of time it takes to process an application varies from one police district to another.

  3. What to do when you have received your PCV driver's licence

    Your PCV driver's licence will be sent to by post or via the official Altinn website.

    You must keep your PCV driver's licence in your vehicle, so that you can show it when requested by the police or other authorised official.

    The PCV driver's licence is normally valid for 10 years. Remember to renew your licence before it expires.

How to appeal if you are refused a PCV driver's licence

If your application is refused, you can appeal. You must submit your appeal no later than three weeks after you received the police's decision. You must send your appeal to the police district that processed your application.

If your appeal is rejected, the police district will send your case to the National Police Directorate for further consideration.
